Very Idiotic Provincial

I’m surrounded by lesbians. Short, chubby lesbians. Tall, rangy lesbians. Old Lesbians For Change. Softball lesbians. Punk lesbians. There are more crewcuts than I can shake a stick at, and frankly, not much in the way of lipstick.

On the way back to VIP, flash my bracelet, Security in an orange shirt calls at me. It takes me a minute to realize what she said was, “I’ll have to frisk you first,” and a second minute to realize it’s flirting. She’s a foot shorter than me, rosy cheeks, sleek grey bob, smooth unlined skin and great tits on a buxom body, waist vanishing as she approaches fifty. Later, I flirt with the lesbian comedienne, the big name anchoring the show, joking that all the hot chicks out there are making me bi-curious. Nothing says Pride Day Celebration like a hetero whore, right?

Here’s the thing. I don’t “get” lesbianism. It’s not that I don’t support anyone’s right to be with whom they are born to be with. But I don’t “get” it in the way that I don’t “get” what it’s like to be black. Just as I can only get a glimpse of what Big City Lover or Circus Guy go through in their daily lives, and they can only speculate what it’s like to be in mine, I don’t understand how the feeling of wanting can be wanting women only. Beautiful Girl tells me, “I love being with a woman, but I can’t imagine living without cock.”

Um, ditto.

I felt really, really provincial and kind of homophobic when I kept catching myself staring at the lesbian couples. Not the gay ones – I don’t know why it’s different, maybe because they are already “not me”, what with the testicles and all. But the women, the strong and beautiful women, were a herd of ten thousand zebras, giraffes, gazelles (and the occasional warthog) around one very confused and outnumbered lioness.

I fully understand wanting to be with a woman, especially one specific woman... but like your friend, I can't imagine not having a cock as well. Somehow, for me, sex culminates with a cock in my pussy... there is no substitute. I'd most like the woman who is my crush to be part of a scenario where we are together, and then both end up sharing some lovely man's cock. :)

Yeah, what she said. I hate the way our sexuality is so often presented as boxed up, and boxed in, but at the same time I know that it is the difference of men that is the appeal for me, and that a woman can enhance, but not replace that.

Yeah, what they said.

I have nothing to add.

I do now and always have loved pussy and tits. I know I always will. But the attraction of a cock has always interested me as well ... haven't done anything about it but one day I fully expect to.

The attraction ... it's so out there, in your face ... as opposed to a pussy that you have to bury yourself between her legs to get at.

That is, of course, a very simplified version but I am sure you all understand.

It isn't so easy to walk a mile in someone else's shoes when what you really need to do is walk a mile in their skin.

That said, I think with the right kind of exposure and enough time, anyone with an open mind can gain a deep enough appreciation of someone else's plight to say you "get" it, and to say that with feeling.

You're a wise woman. I think you get other people better than you admit here, or possibly better than you know. I'm an optimist, so I am betting on the former.

I think C. who's spent enough time in the sack with box genders who said it best: "I used to work in that industry, so I remember the jargon, but it's not me anymore."

First of all, we meet each other in snapshots of life. I know numerous women who've wandered back and forth across the preference line, and I'm not sure there's a convincing stage we end up at unless it's when the last reel in the picture runs out.

Second, desire is simply what it is, and the notion we're required to "choose" is as ridiculous as the notion we are required to like chocolate or eat meat.

LFM, I like that one, too - bg...let me know...

Z - yes, spot on! It's the enhancement that's neat - though, way back when, I was much more into the woman than the man (see Bubblegum/Peppermint)

I like the idea that we are not required to choose - one of the things I tell Husband all the time is "I like *this* flavor..." chocolate does not replace strawberry...
